Via HFR (the “Corporation”) is a federal Crown corporation operating in a complex legal and regulatory environment. It contributes directly to the procurement process led by the Government of Canada to identify a private developer partner for the new passenger rail infrastructure project between Quebec City and Toronto.
Once this partner has been identified, the Corporation will work with it to design and develop the project. The Corporation reports directly to the Parliament of Canada through the Minister of Transport.
The legal secretary assists VIA HFR’s Legal Affairs and Corporate Secretary team members in carrying out their various mandates. That team is made up of a vice president, a corporate secretary and several legal advisors. In the course of their duties, the legal secretary must exercise rigour, discretion, cooperation and efficiency.
