Air Quality

An air quality study focuses on any air contaminants that might affect the air. This study will help HFR planners to protect air quality while building and operating the new railway.

Where are air quality studies happening?

We will be investigating potential locations for air monitoring devices along a railway that runs from Laval to Québec City along the north side of the St. Lawrence River.

Why study air quality?

Air quality can affect human and environmental health. By recording the air quality in a particular area, HFR’s planners will better understand how the air might change while building and operating the new railway and what is needed to protect the air we breathe.
